You know that the 20-years Strategic Transport Plan (STP)
prepared/submitted by DTCB is under active consideration of the
government for implementation. However, the steps being taken is
creating mixed reaction among the people due to lack of transparency
in the process. At times it appears to be against the spirit of the
STP.
Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA) has always demanded a well
planned, affordable and environmental friendly transport system of
Dhaka city that is consistent with other plans of the city. Towards
this end a round table discussion has been organized as under:

Prof. Muzaffer Ahmed, President, BAPA will preside over the program.
Dr. Mahabubul Bari, Transport Planner working in UK and a keen
observer of the transport system of Dhaka city will initiate the
discussion with a small presentation. Eminent scholars, researchers
and professionals of the transport sector and senior citizens from
the environment arena will participate in the discussion. Adequate
time will be allocated for open discussion.
